Subject: Apply for the Community Preservation Committee

Dear Friends,

You have either expressed interest in being on Boston’s new Community Preservation Committee or someone has recommended you for one of the four at-large seats.
As you may know, the Community Preservation Act was passed by nearly 75% of Boston’s voters last fall and will bring $20 million to the city every year for parks, affordable housing, and historic preservation.
The Community Preservation Committee will be responsible for setting priorities for funding, reading proposals from across the city for projects in the three areas, and making recommendations to the Mayor and City Council.
It is an exciting time for our neighborhoods in Boston! We are hoping to have a large, diverse pool of applicants for the Committee. Please consider applying – but act quickly – the deadline is Thursday, November 9th.
You can learn more, complete an online application or download one to do by hand – check out the new Community Preservation pages on the website!
If you have any questions, please call or email! If you know others who might be interested in applying, share this email with them. You are all deeply engaged in your communities or the city – you know good candidates!
Thanks so much,
Christine
