These three organizations listed below ( see links ) and the one apartment developer advertise a lot of affordable, income-restricted rental and ownership product to the market.
The City of Boston stated in a report to the Chamber of Commerce yesterday that the mayor’s administration has provided over 8,000 low and moderate income ( new) living spaces recently.
But, according to our sources, 60,000 people are on a waiting list across the state for “subsidized housing.”
Low income. Moderate income. Affordable. Subsidized. Luck. Advocate: all words to describe the need. People are winning the lottery who can only afford the lottery.
And, when a person leaves one affordable unit for another newer affordable unit, there is a vacancy to be filled in that affordable space they left.
But, there there is just not enough affordable housing stock to go around and meet everyone’s needs, unfortunately.
|City of Cambridge Community Development Department – ya’ll know who this is. COC is right across the river from Boston. Its an expensive town to live in, unless of course you get the cheap apartment, housing, affordable living space deal
